Heritage crafts and old-tyme farming skills are highlighted in this 2-day
family event that showcases a simpler life. Draft animal teams will be demonstrating "no gas needed" farming skills and offering wagon rides, as well as providing power for corn-grinding and sorghum pressing (weather permitting). Molasses cooking, spinning, natural dyeing, soapmaking, dry stone masonry, native plant identification & hikes, antique and vintage clothing, gourdcrafting, ropemaking, wild-fiber baskets, Indian artifacts, flintknapping, children's primitive games and toys, beekeeping, and much more! (listing subject to change). Pleign-aire and photographic artists capturing rural scenes on-site, and local author Walter Schlemper signing his autobiographical books about life on the farm. Rare livestock breeds on display, live bluegrass & mountain music. Real chuckwagon food, whole hog barbecue, kettle corn, plus other treats! More may be added as we get closer to the event weekend!
